Karnataka is one of the rapidly urbanising states in India. Nearly one-third of its population about 18 million live in urban areas. GoK required an agency to assess the infrastructure needs of urban areas; formulate projects; to act as a nodal agency to implement government programmes; to raise financial and resources. To fulfil these requirements, Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation Limited(KUIDFCL) was established. The Company was registered in November 1993 as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 1956.
